Rules & Regulations
Hayes Arboretum is a 501c3 private operating foundation that helps better connect people to nature by making the property safe and open to the public.
Follow the rules and regulations of Hayes Arboretum. Improper conduct may result in expulsion.

No motorized or electric vehicles beyond the parking lot.

No Class 2 and 3 e-bikes on trails.

No unauthorized carrying of firearms or concealed weapons.

No alcoholic beverages permitted.

No smoking, vaping, or illicit drug use.

No camping, overnight parking, fires, fireworks, or graffiti.

No dumping of debris or abandonment of animals.

No collecting or hunting of mushrooms, flowers, plants, animals, rocks, or other natural objects.

No fishing or trapping.

Stay on the trails.

Keep the trails clean.

Carry out all trash and pet waste.

Respect the native vegetation and wildlife.

Do not climb trees or remove limbs, sticks, leaves from trees.

Do not carve into trees.

Do not feed or approach wildlife.

Keep dogs under control and on a leash at all times.

Children must be accompanied at all times.

Mountain bikers must follow additional mountain biking rules that can be found here.
Additionally, please respect the rules of the Nature Center and Playscape to help protect these special historic and natural spaces.

Keep items in designated areas and exhibits.
