Hayes House in SpringHistory of the Hayes House
Stanley W. Hayes sought to build his country home on the highest hill of his new land. Contracting with the Richmond architect and engineering firm, John W. Mueller & Company, plans for his house began to evolve in 1915 and construction of the main house was complete in 1922. The dining room and breezeway were added five years later, in 1927. The Hayes House continued to serve as Mr. Hayes home until his death in 1963, at the age of 97. See early photos of the home in our History section.

The Hayes House is now open for use by Contributor, Sponsor, Benefactor, Not-for-Profit and Corporate level Membership holders. The house is decorated with many original furnishings. Please treat the house with special care while you stay.
